Summer is finally on its way along with the Summer Reading Program! The Summer Reading Program is for youth, teens, and adults of all ages. Don't miss out on your chance to win prizes and of course read!
Events: Many different fun and exciting events for all ages have been planned during the months of June and July for the Summer Reading Program. View them on the online calendar.
Every Hero Has a Story: For children.
Reading Challenge: Read for or listen to 15 minutes of reading and mark off or color one picture on the Reading Log. Keep reading until you complete 5 hours total and earn a small prize. After another 5 hours, win another small prize and be eligible for a special drawing for bigger prizes on July 8. Up to three entries for bigger prizes will be accepted per reader. (Need not be present to win.)
Weekly Contests: Complete the special weekly puzzle, put your name and phone number on it and have a chance to win a t-shirt on Fridays. There will be a new puzzle each Saturday. (Need not be present to win.)
Final Party: July 8 at 11:00 A.M. End the year with one last fun party. We will play Book Bingo at 11am and have an ice cream party. Drawings for prizes for those completing the summer reading challenge will also take place during this program.
Unmask!: For teens.
Reading Challenge: Keep track of how many minutes you read or listen to an audiobook each day. When you have read for five hours, bring your reading log to the library and receive a small prize. Read for another five hours and get a second small prize, and receive a ticket for a chance to win one of the prize baskets. Each teen can earn up to three tickets (3 tickets = 30 hours of reading). On July 7, we will draw for five winners – one for each basket.
T-Shirt Giveaway: 1.) Complete a weekly puzzle in Teen area and turn in to enter. 2.) Attend a program and enter automatically. Winners will be drawn each Friday.
Escape the Ordinary: For adults.
Kindle Drawings: Kindles will be given away this summer to three lucky participants in the Summer Reading Program for adults. For each book read or listened to, adults 18 years old and over may fill out and turn in an entry form. The contest begins June 1. The more you read, the more often you can enter! Drawings will be held at noon on Friday, June 12, June 26, and July 10. Entry forms are available at the circulation desk. The Kindles are wi-fi compatible and have a six-inch display. Only one Kindle may be won by any participant.
Fine Free Coupons: Every week beginning June 1, a different game sheet will be available at the Library until July 11. Get all the answers correct and win a fine free coupon. Winners will be drawn on Monday, June 8, 15, 22, 29, July 6, and 13.
